Engineered Wood Flooring
Engineered wood flooring combines the beauty of real timber with improved stability and performance. Unlike solid wood, engineered boards are constructed using multiple layers, making them more resistant to changes in temperature and moisture. We stock colours to suit any room, including black, grey, or brown.
This makes engineered flooring suitable for a wider range of environments, including kitchens, dining areas, and rooms with underfloor heating. It offers the same natural grain and character as hardwood while providing better long-term durability.
Benefits of engineered wood flooring:
- Real wood surface with natural grain and texture
- More stable than solid wood in changing conditions
- Suitable for underfloor heating systems
- Long-lasting and refinishable surface (on selected ranges)
- Available in a variety of wood species and finishes
Engineered wood flooring is ideal for those who want authentic timber flooring with added practicality.
What is engineered wood flooring?
Engineered wood flooring is made from multiple layers of real wood, with a natural timber top layer and a stable core beneath. This layered construction makes it more resistant to changes in temperature and moisture than solid wood, while still offering an authentic wood finish.
How to clean engineered wood floors
Engineered wood floors are easy to maintain with regular care. Sweep or vacuum to remove dust and dirt, then use a slightly damp mop with a wood-safe or pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid excess water, steam mops, and harsh chemicals, as these can damage the natural wood surface over time. You can find our flooring cleaning products here.
How to lay engineered wood flooring
Engineered wood flooring can be installed using floating (click), glue-down, or nail-down methods depending on the product. Before installation, ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and level, and allow the flooring to acclimatise. Many modern systems use a click-lock design for easier installation, with expansion gaps left around the edges for natural movement.
