Overflow Bath Fillers – Combining Style, Function & Safety
An indispensable safety and functional element for any bathtub, a bath overflow is positioned near the rim. It effectively redirects surplus water back into the drainage system, averting unintentional flooding. This allows for a tranquil soak without concerns about spills or water damage to your bathroom floor.
What is a Bath Waste and Overflow?
A bath waste and overflow system efficiently drains your bath, helps maintain hygiene, and protects your home from water damage. This combined system includes:
- Bath Waste: The main drain at the bottom of the bath. It's often fitted with a plug or click-clack mechanism for filling and emptying the tub.
- Overflow: A safety outlet near the top of the bath that prevents water from rising beyond a safe level.
- Connecting Pipework: This links the overflow to the waste, allowing excess water to drain directly.
Types of Bath Overflow and Waste Systems
- Combination Bath Overflow Filler & Waste: An all-in-one unit that integrates both the water inlet and waste outlet for a streamlined look.
- Overflow Filler with Pop-Up Waste: Features an external knob to open and close the waste, offering convenience and a clean aesthetic.
- Twist-Operated Systems: Utilise a knob near the overflow that you twist to open or close the waste.
- Exposed Overflow Fillers: Designed for freestanding baths, often accompanied by decorative shrouds and luxury finishes.
