Compression fittings are for use on hot and cold water systems. The fittings can be used for both copper and plastic pipe systems as no heat is required, and are simple to use. By simply sliding the nut and olive over the pipework and placing it in the fitting, you then tighten the nut which compresses the olive around the pipework giving you a watertight seal. A suitable jointing compound can be used for additional seal. When using plastic pipework it is important the relevant manufacturers insert is used to ensure the pipe is rigid before entering the fitting. Fittings are manufactured from high quality brass.
